Aldinga'S Fleurieu Roast has been awarded three medals at Golden Bean, the world’s largest coffee roaster competition and conference.

Aldinga based Fleurieu Roast has been awarded three medals at Golden Bean,
the world’s largest coffee roaster competition and conference .

Founder and head roaster at Fleurieu Roast, Ben Tugwell, said that entering the competition was a spur of the moment decision driven by the positive feedback from local fans of his coffee.

“An entry kit arrived a few weeks ago and I was curious how Fleurieu Roast coffee would rate in such a competitive field with some of the biggest in the business. I was getting such great feedback from our growing customer base, so I thought it was time to
put Fleurieu Roast coffee to the test.”

Industry leaders and coffee professionals gathered in Port Macquarie at the end of November to carry out the three-day blind taste testing of over 1500 entries
from across Australia and New Zealand. This year, Fleurieu Roast’s three inaugural entries won 3 medals:

  • SILVER MEDAL in the ‘Espresso’ category with Café Meilleur
  • BRONZE MEDAL in the ‘Organic’ Espresso category with Café Meilleur
  • BRONZE MEDAL in ‘Milk-based’ category with Café J’Adore

“As it turns out, the locals were on the money and we won three medals. It just goes to
show that our local coffee drinkers are on the ball when it comes to choosing
award-winning coffee.”

Fleurieu Roast is all about the pursuit of consistently great coffee that people enjoy. The
premium quality coffee is roasted in small batches inside the quaint roastery shed hidden just inside the Aldinga Arts EcoVillage.

While Ben has a growing customer base of loyal coffee enthusiasts who want their home machines pouring cafe-quality coffee, his focus for the business is to be the coffee of choice for cafes, restaurants and food businesses who want to serve coffee that leaves a lasting impression.

So pleased our customers were on the money;choosing Cafe Meilleur as their favourite.
